It’s time to be the best! It’s time to be the first! It’s time to be a Star! This January Moscow hosted FONBET All-Star Week KHL 2020. The main theme of the Week became “Time”. Everyone, who lives in Moscow, knows that time in this city is an important and very valuable resource. It’s obvious, that in real life time goes forward. But in the ice hockey match it goes backwards.
Traditionally the All-Star Week began with the All-Star players presentation. How long do the ice hockey players think about girls? And how long about sport? How much time do they spend in the Internet? And how much with their friends? Traditionally, there was one roster place reserved in each division for the best JHL Challenge Cup player. Head coaches chose the one for their team after they only heard some facts about players’ time-spending. And coaches’ assistants checked their time-management skills in practice. For example, a sport commentator Dmitriy Fedorov had to improvise for 30 seconds speech to inspire the team to win.
The first part of the FONBET All-Star Week 2020 – Skills Competition.
Informal and funny but reflecting power, energy and soul of the ice hockey – that was the pre-show of the Skills Competition Pre-game Show. The main heroes – young professional ice hockey players from the “Armada” sport school and joined by amateur hockey players. 32 hours of rehearsal – 5 minutes of the show. Every gesture and every word should be 100% synchronized. The ice hockey has millions of fans. The participation of unprofessional artists symbolizes the popularity of ice hockey in Russia. 24 artists – 24 KHL ice hockey clubs. By the way, for the first-time mascots of all 24 clubs were fully engaged in the pre-show. Together with representatives of 24 fan clubs cheered spectator up and welcomed KHL ice hockey stars at the VTB-arena.
22 000 m2 of media-surface, 35 000 meters of control switchboard connections, 1500 meters of truss structures and 140 hours of installation. Traditionally pre-show of the All-Star Game – is a way to demonstrate the most up-to-date show technologies. Ice, media cube, stands and even ceiling became a place for performance. 9500 light bulbs turned the whole VTB-Arena into the huge multidimensional 10000 m2 media screen. Every spectator’s seat was an interactive element of the show. Thus, all spectators were inside the multidimensional projection. That means, for several minutes they were out of the space and time.

Collaboration with KHL’s partners reached a new level. Together with traditional advertising video on the media cube, sponsors’ activations were integrated into the Skills Competition Show and All-Star Game: flesh mobs of FONBET and MasterCard in the breaks between games, ice projection of Haier before the contest. Broadcasted live on Match-TV sports channel.
More qualitative, more technological and more ambitious. High attendance, cooperation with new partners and a higher level of their integration – all that is not only about the new organizational level of the KHL All-Star Week but also about the development of sport presentation in Russia.
