MMA + Ice Hockey = Ice Fights – a unique sport born from the ancient Russian tradition of fistfights on frozen rivers. The semi-final of the regular tournament took place on June 14, 2025, at the VTB Arena.
The fight takes place inside a 9-meter diameter circle. Fighters skate at maximum speed, collide aggressively with their opponents in split-second moves, pin them to the ice, and unleash brutal striking techniques. Each fight consists of five one-minute rounds with 30-second breaks, and an extra round is added in case of a draw. There are weight categories — from 70 kg for men and 45 kg for women (yes, women fight too!) up to super heavyweight (over 100 kg).
Since 2022, Sport Producers has been working closely with the Ice Fighting Federation. We handle all technical aspects of the tournaments (venue setup, lighting, screens, special effects), as well as directing the show, sports presentation, audience engagement, partner activations, and content for screens (openers, fighter profiles, tournament brackets, etc.).
The events are streamed live on the Federation’s VK and YouTube channels, and the recordings are broadcast on Match|Boets TV channel. The entire production is delivered by the Sport Producers TV crew, covering equipment, production team, and broadcast graphics production.
The broadcast concept was developed by SP and is constantly upgraded to keep the visuals fresh and engaging, attracting more and more viewers every time.
