World’s best karate athletes arrived in Russia! From 4 to 6 October Moscow for the first time in its history staged one of the most important tournament in the Karate world – Karate1-Premier League. Only the top 100 karate athletes in World Karate Federation’s rating are eligible to take part in it.
First Karate1 Premier League tournament was held in 2011 in two stages: in Paris and Istanbul. By 2018 the tournament became one of the most prestigious karate competitions in the world. This sport was recently included in the Olympic Games program and will make it’s debut in Tokyo. This year the Premier League is the qualification tournament to the Olympic games 2020.












Karate in Russia is a famous, but not so popular sport as football or ice hockey. Not every spectator knows the rules and traditions of the sport, the participants of this competition. In order to provide more spectator’s involvement and to make what was happening on the tatami more understandable and interesting for everyone, Sport Producers provided a service of personal commenting in a real-time. Spectators were getting free audio-devices in the concession area and listening to Roman Mazurov - one of the best martial arts commentator in Russia. His commentary, along with specially invited expert’s opinions, provided for better understanding of the details of the tournament, introduction of the athletes and interesting facts about karate philosophy and history.
















During the final session over 1000 audio-devices were given out, that means that one more thousand people now are interested and educated in karate!
