The only one World Championship among Olympic sports in Russia in 2020. From 13 to 16 of February Sochi hosted the FIL World Championships.
Sport presentation, crowd management and entertainment, communication and coordination of International Luge Federation and providing of video content and TV production – main tasks of Sport Producers at this event.
Providing of the broadcast at big international events – is always a hard-working task. Sport Producers planned and organized all working zones for Russian and International TV-companies: TV-compound, commentators’ positions, mixed-zones, camera platforms… In addition, Sport Producers provided special services to international broadcasters, coordinated working process with EBU (European Broadcasting Union) and submitted live broadcast at Federal and thematic channels.
This year FIL World Championships opening ceremony was organized at the Rosa Khutor Town Hall Square. Parade of the athletes, welcome speeches by President of the International Luge Federation Josef Fendt and President of the Russian Luge Federation Natalia Gart, but the culmination of the ceremony was a concert of “UMA2RMAN”. The day before the concert, “UMA2RMAN” visited luge-bobsleigh track and met the best Russian luge athletes, who told the musicians about track structure and rules of the sport. At the end of the excursion musicians took the role of luge athletes and rode down on the special tourist bob! Roman Repilov – two-times world champion and the leader of the Russian team, told “UMA2RMAN” about the peculiarities of the sport. Sport makes people closer. During the excursion musicians got acquainted with the team and throughout the competition supported the athletes.
Tree days of competition, all disciplines, the best athletes of the world. For the first time after Sochi 2014 Olympic Games the luge-bobsleigh track visited several thousand people in three days. By the way, it’s the first time since 2014, when the large entrance for spectators was opened. For spectators were organized special shuttles to bring them to the track.
What can spectators do, if breaks between races are from 50 to 1,5 hours? To go to the Entertainment Square, which is not far from the entrance! There you could sledding down the giant snow hill, shoot in a snow dash, play floorball and even compete in a snowman sculpting.
For whose who stayed at Rosa Khutor, were organized live broadcasts of competitions on the big screen. Here every evening took place award ceremonies. According to the established Olympic tradition awarding of the athletes should happen at Medals Plaza. Before and after the ceremony at Medals Plaza played DJs and performed cover bands and artists.
With such great support Russian athletes won five gold medals and became leaders of the Championship!
